Do you already have a 3 point log splitter? If not just get one with an engine. By the time you add the stuff to make the tractor run a splitter you’ll be money ahead and it will work better.

Was going to cost me $300-400 to put PB on my SCUT and then a thousand or more for splitter, found a uses splitter with blown engine for $200 and infested $350 for hoses and new engine.... Way ahead for stand alone splitter, and still have tractor available to move wood to and from splitter without having to stop splitting....

If you choose to connect a log splitter valve to the hydraulic power beyond of a tractor, be aware of the possibility that the detent return of the log splitter valve may cause unintended operation of other tractor hydraulics. I had a power beyond splitter on my JD650. If the front end loader was up (which it should not be anyway) while I was splitting, and I moved the splitter valve into the detent quick return position, the front loader fell to the ground instantly = very dangerous! At the recommendation of the valve manufacturer, I changed it for a regular "open/close" hydraulic valve of the same chassis, and it worked perfectly fine, and did not interfere with other hydraulic system operation. Though I did have to hold the valve for each splitter return!

$400-600 on marketplace every month around here. I wouldnt bother with a 3pt splitter. This $400 unit just sits outside next to my woodshed. A few pulls on the recoil and I'm splitting wood. Nothing to hook up or unhook.
