If the bandsaw doesn稚 do well, try a cutoff wheel on your angle grinder. I have always been successful using the angle grinder on thick steel (especially hardened steel).

That's no challenge for a cold-cut saw, if you have one.

I put the head in my 4X6 bandsaw, and the steel cut nicely,, slow, but nice,, that 4X6 saw ain't much,,,,

The 9X16 saw has a 5-8 variable tpi blade,, the head cut should be no problem.
I tinkered in the garden today,, maybe tomorrow I will try cutting the head,, again,,

ONE other question,,, Should I drill a hole in the head,, kinda like a "Hardy Hole" on a regular anvil?

Yes to the hole.

After I get the head cut, I will try drilling,, I am thinking about a 1 1/16" hole,, (1.0625"),, possibly, two surfaces, two holes,,,
