Please Make a Mid-PTO Cover

Dear BXpanded, or some other accessory manufacturer:

Please make a mid-PTO cover sleeve that is splined, slides on the shaft when the mower is off, and has a detent/button that works kind of like other PTO shaft latches. It should scrape the splines clean as it is mounted and removed.

I am really sick and tired of crawling under there to clean the splines every time I re-mount the mower.

I would pay $50 for a well designed product.

My Deere 1070 has a mid-pto cover. You don't want it to attach to the shaft. If you engage the mid-pto with such a cover on , it will tear stuff apart if grass, hands, gloves, animals or fence wire get wrapped up around it. I know you wouldn't do such a thing, but all it takes is ONE.

Maybe the Deere cover could be modified to fit. It just snaps onto the housing.

I use a 4" section of PUR pipe foam. Put a piece of duct tape on the seam and it slides on and off real nice. Pick the correct diameter for your spline size. I use this on both rear and mid PTO stub shafts when I have everything off. Concept: simple Value: priceless!!!
