I have a branson 2400 with back hoe. The tractor has 3 hydraulic hoses that hook to the back hoe. I traced one out and it goes to the pb port on the fel valve. The other two I assume go to the tank. I purchased a 3 pt log splitter from tsc and I have it plumbed but when i lift the rear 3 point arms up the ram moves on the log splitter. I called the log splitter company and they said i have to have a feed from my main line and i cannot come off the pb port on the fel valve but my backhoe works fine off this? Anybody have any ideas? The tractor has a open valve system.

Do you have a log splitter valve on the log splitter?
The hose from the FEL PB, with a QD on it , call it BH1, should feed the IN port of the log splitter valve. the hose from the 3pt to the rear QD, call it BH2. A hose from BH2 QD should go to the OUT port on the log splitter valve. That completes the hyd circuit. The third hose from the BH is the OUT hose on the BH valve to tank, and is only used when using the BH. .
If nothing is being used on the rear, then a short jumper hose should connect the two BH1, BH2 rear QD's together. .
You should have about 7.7 GPM's.

I will have to look and see if I hooked it up to the hose going to the tank Vs the hose you call bh2. When my backhoe is off the two hoses i connected to the log splitter are connected together and the third just has a dust cover.

No matter how you hook up the log splitter, the fluid should just flow through the valve until you push a lever, or put it into detent.
With the log splitter attached, when you raise the 3t, you are pressurizing the complete hyd circuit from the pump to the 3pt. . The only way for the log splitter cyl to extend is for the back pressure to flow past the valve spools.
If you installed a 3000 hyd pressure gage, you could check out the hyd system.
Flow path = pump, PB out, log splitter in, log splitter out to 3pt in, then tank.
The OUT hose stays with the BH, and is only used when using the BH. It sends all the cyl fluid to tank.

At least 3000 psi gage, preferable liquid filled.

I spoke again with my tractor dealer and told him the problem and he told me that the pyb from the loader valve feeds the 3 point arms as well and I can't lift the arms with the splitter attached or I will mess my pump up. Any body else have to do this?
