I am going to get a L3240 or L3540. I want to add the following options/implements:

-- FEL
-- TNT
-- rear blade
-- maybe a front blade for snow plowing (especially if I can get a QA). I do not want a blower.
--maybe a post hole digger

Uses will be snow plowing and gravel grading a 1000 foot mostly steep driveway, moving dirt around now and then, bush hogging a 6 acre, very hilly horse pasture, moving 6-8 foot tree trunk sections to the woodpile, picking up brush, some trail maintenance. Other than the pasture work, no mowing.

I want as much (preferably 100%) of all the hydraulics/valves/remotes installed by the dealer while I壇 love to learn about it sometime, I must confess that after hours and hours of reading the posts here I still don稚 understand the entire hydraulic thing. And while I have great respect for all of those that do their own options add ons, I have so little time that the amount of money that might be saved is not enough to justify figuring everything out.

One problem I have is that the closest local dealer is not very good (I don稚 know anyone who buys anything there). The next 3 dealers are all almost 2 hours away and are a bit better, but I will have to be VERY exact in what I ask for or else I don稚 think they will know what to do (I asked one dealer to explain to me about diverters/solenoid options for hydraulics, and he didn稚 know anything about them). Most of these dealers are just order takers.

So here are my questions:

Do I need the LA2231 轍uick coupler for Quick Attach buckets? (I知 still confused about quick couple vs QA, though I致e read the posts)

Is the 禅hird Function Valve option (L2225) for the Grand L series what I need to run a grapple? If so, do I need anything else, or does this include some kind of switch/button for the loader control joystick?

What would be the easiest Toothbar to put on the 66 inch HD bucket?

I assume I need 2 rear remotes for the Top-N-Tilt kit?

Should I get double acting or FD Float detent for the rear remotes?? Am I correct in assuming that a float will help me plow snow/grade with the rear blade?

Do Kubota hydraulics come with check valves? If not do I need them, and how should I order them?

Does anyone know if all the L40 series being shipped now come with the redesigned front seat (the one that doesn稚 slope so far forward?)

So here is my order list so far, recognizing it may change given answers to the above:

Tractor with HST
Loader: LA723
QA for loader: LA2231
Bucket: 66 in HD round back L2239
Top/Tilt kit L8326 (with tilt cylinder on left side)
Joystick fender mount L2223
Rear Remote hydraulics: Base kit L8305 with either L8303 or L8304
Second rear remote: L8306, with either L8303 and L8304
R4 tires (or maybe ags, still can稚 decide) with Rim guard

Grapple: bucket grapple. Any suggestions for which one?
Toothbar: which one?

Anything else I知 missing?

Thanks!

Please share your checking account number with us, there are other things I need... just kidding. The package sounds great. I would opt for R1's but you can research that here, there are alot of threads on that topic.
I will suggest that the correct tires make a big difference. Choose wisely.

extra working lights.. front and rear... mounted on ROPS?
chain hooks on FEL bucket

QA forks. They are very useful.

I've gone back and forth on R1s vs. R4s. I was pretty set on the R1's, but am worried a bit about the pasture mowing. The ground here is very 'thin' -- only about 1 inch of topsoil and then right into clay and rock. It digs up easily (although I run my R1's that are on my small tractor -- a 17 HP Ford -- on the lawn all the time, and as long as I keep it out of 4WD and don't turn tightly, I have no problems).
do you have a point of view of R1s vs R4s for snow work?

Steep drive + snow = tire chains. If it were me I would get the R4’s and chains for the winter. Your thin top soil will be happier with the R4’s. For your hills I would have the dealer set the tires at there widest setting for stability. It would be a lot cheaper to add the third rear remote now than later. You might want a rear blade with hydraulic angle as well as T&T in the future.

Can one adjust the width of R-4 tires; I thought they were mounted on fixed rims only? I have two tractors with R-4's that are not adjustable! My other tractors with R-1's, can be adjusted for width too.

I would find it difficult without a heavy TNT boxblade with hyd scarifiers for day to day use. It works as ballast and has a lot of uses. If I use my FEL without the boxblade on I notice the instability right away. I have other implements but the boxblade goes back on as soon as possible.

Wouldn't the TNT give me angle on the rear blade? Or am confused already? (Basically what I want to do is be able to adjust the 'flatness' angle of the rear blade (which I think of as 'tilt'). Or is the hydraulic angle you refer to the side to side angle of the entire blade (relative to the direction of travel, as opposed to the ground?) I could see how that would be a nice feature.

Bill, you understand, I am talking about the ability to angle the blade so you can windrow material, such as snow, to one side or the other. The hydraulic cylinder would be mounted on the blade itself for this application.
