We've known of two Covid deaths. But for the survey to have any meaningful information you'd really have to know a lot of information such as : 1) Your age 2) How many people do you know personally? Some people have 3 friends and a small family while others 50 friends, belong to 4 organizations, have a huge family and work in a factory of 200...so maybe one person knows 10 people personally, the other 1,000.
3) How many people know health care workers? That's how we know the two who were "friends of friends". We knew hospital/ nursing home workers who had two friends die from Covid. We knew them personally, although not well.
4) As others mentioned people who were going to die from a variety of things got Covid. Cause of death: Covid (but was it?).
5) Were they vaccinated? When and which shot? When or did they get the booster & which one?
6) The deceased from Covid: their age, state of health, lifestyle?

The two we knew and what's odd the one a late 20s body builder in perfect health. The other a mid 50s morbidly obese woman with a variety of health issues.

It's sort of like asking who has known someone dying from a fall? Big difference between a drunk falling on train tracks and a suicide off of a skyscraper!

My Dad had COPD for years but was still working and getting by until he got Covid. He passed away 2 weeks later.

My brother told me that Dad did not die from Covid it was COPD that killed him. No doubt Dad would have lived longer and continued to work if he had not gotten Covid. So what did my Dad die from?

I asked my brother if Dad was shot would he blame COPD for his death or would he want the guy that shot him to be held responsible? At the end of the day, Dad is gone so whatever helps my brother deal with that is fine by me but I say Dad died from Covid.

This is why I hate this has become such a political issue. It is what it is regardless what some want to believe.
First off, I'm very sorry for your loss, and no disrespect intended. I feel when talk about this, I may come off as a bit of a d*ck to those who are sick or lost people, so want to clarify that's totally not my intention. But with that said, people with COPD also died suddenly long before Covid showed up. A regular flu, pneumonia, all that sort of stuff kills people with chronic conditions like COPD or CHF all the time.

As for those posting about healthy people they know who got Covid and passed, again, previously healthy people do die w/o Covid's help. Pneumococcal pneumonia wipes out like 50k yearly, a big chunk of them being fairly healthy non-elderly adults. There's statistics for that which could be looked up and verified. But oddly, such statistics are not available for Covid, not with a quick search at least. Age is the driving stat for Covid, currently.

I was not offended by your post but wanted to point out that yes, people died long before Covid and will die with or without Covid. But trying to blame anything else when a person dies with Covid is futile in my mind. I have no problem blaming Covid when all logic points in that direction.

I will say I am a very conservative person but I think for myself. I do not jump on a band wagon because others want to prove someone else wrong. No one has a problem saying someone died of cancer or a car wreck or whatever. Why is it so hard for some to say someone died of Covid? I just cannot wrap my head around that.

Nope, that's not me, I'm not saying people don't die from Covid. And, also not saying your father didn't die from it. Absolutely, there are people with manageable chronic conditions who would have lived for years had they not contracted Covid. But unfortunately (and it seems purposely), nearly all fatalities with a Covid+ status are lumped as a covid death, which raises some questions, right?

But what you are doing is taking this thread in a direction that neither the OP, the moderators nor a large percentage of the respondents intend or want it to go.
Your contribution is inflammatory, unnecessary and counterproductive.

It's not that complicated really. Medical professionals have to make a judgement call to specify cause of death all the time based on the facts before them, and that includes weighing pre-existing conditions with other facts/events. You could have someone on their last legs with cancer, but if they are killed in a car accident on the way to hospice for their last days, guess what the cause of death will be? Auto accident. It's entirely possible they would have survived the wreck if their body was stronger and not battling cancer. But the ultimate reason in the timeline leading to their death is involvement in the auto accident, not cancer. Given the facts, this is not hard to judge.

The title of this thread; Please answer without comment" reminds me of the lawyer who asked a witness in court to "answer yes or no only" and then asked, "Have you stopped beating your wife?"

I see some answered this thread as instructed while others provided more information.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Well, ANY answer is a comment, so is an impossible question.
