I am not planting a pasture this will be for my yard. I know i wont get complete coverage but i am hoping by the end of summer it will be filled in pretty good.
I would use more seed but its kind of expensive.
With all due respect to your choice of grass (and completely none of my biZ) folks here in TN are getting rid or Bermuda as fast as they can. That stuff will take over an entire yard, however when one's yard is completely Bermuda, it is a moot point. :D

KY 31 is the choice of grasses here, and I do realize LA may be another entire region for grass suitability.

Well you in a totally different part of the world then i am. Down here you got 3 choices in grass you can plant.
1- saint augustine ( you can ony sod or plug it, was to expensive to do 4 acres)
2-centepede (too expensive to seed and grows slowly)
3- bermuda ( cheaper than the above)
Bermuda grass is drought and traffic tolerant and fills in and grows very fast.
I hope it does take over the whole yard thats my ultimate goal.

wickedinhere, I planted 60 or so pounds of bermuda just after you did and I've already had to mow mine twice....it's going crazy. I guess we've had more conducive weather around here in South Texas. Like you, I too want the Bermuda to completely take over as it beats the heck out of sand burs and other weeds that preceded. And yes, I agree it's waaaay too hot and dry down here for fescue out in open areas.

I just put down 600 lbs of fertilizer today, my rye grass is finally starting to die off and the bermuda is taking off like crazy. I am sure after the next good rain
i will have some very tall grass.

I also planted bermuda in late March and it looks nothing like that. Of coarse it has only rained three times since. Your lawn does give me hope. Beautiful.

Every time it rains it will fill in more and more. Have you fertilized yet?

I put mine down 2 days before a rain and it really got things growing. I went to lowes and got the cheap stuff. I used a 13-13-13 it was 6.50 for 40 pounds i put down 600 lbs and it worked great.
