I noticed that Sweet had one of the Used Cole/Powell 12 mx multiplex universal planter/cultivator on Ebay recently, I think he was asking for $595, If he still has that unit? Probably save several hundred bucks over new. You are correct, the New Covington Universal Planter/Ferterlizer and Cultivator at Sweets for $899 may a little much for a hobby.

Thanks for the replies and sorry that I have not replied sooner but haven't been on the computer for a while. I did pick up a flyer for something called the Eco-drill which looks like it would work for most of my needs corn and smaller seeds, but maybe not the cucumbers and pumpkins. Also, went to our county fair and spoke with a JD dealer about the flexi-planter. He said you could order the number of rows needed but need to fabricate your own 3pt attachment. The problem is, each row would cost about $2,000, ouch.

I got a reply from Powell Manufacturing on a equipment and application question.

Per Powell customer service "Powell has stopped production of all equipment as of September 27, 2002."
