One thing I forgot to mention about my own first time tractor buying in post #68 above... is that looking back on our first tractor buying experience I was trying too hard to save and really should have bought a slightly larger tractor. Not very much larger and definitely not more HP, but the next slightly larger frame size.
Yeah this is gonna be hard for me too. I'm Dutchman who likes to save a penny or two. :)

The problem for any buyer is knowing how much more tractor you are getting in the next frame size when you haven't operated any of them to compare them. For example, the MX5200 is about 2x the tractor as the L2501, and I have both. The MX is much more stable on hills. But it's hard to tell how different they really are without operating one versus the other.

The salesman wants to make a sale...not necessarily going to give you independent advice that saves you money in the long run.

I think frame size is a huge factor in deciding which tractor to get. It's hard to overstate how much difference it makes in traction and capability.
