Planet Jr, Cub Cadet, American Lawn (old Kmart), Iron Mule, Murray Mower,
I have a Planet Jr two wheel garden tractor 1950's with a cone clutch. The clutch suddenly quit engaging and I can't figure out how it works, never seen one like this before. Does anyone have any expierence with this type clutch or any ideas on what might have happened to it?

They are adjustable, there is a pin on the movable side that sticks out of the cone L side. You need to pull the pin out a little, by hand and move it to another hole, I think it is forward.
Should be easy enough if the clutch pin has not rusted, and it is looking from the rear of the tractor the chain from engine will be on your right.

I saw that on there and have moved it several times so I may have it all out of whack. The clutch was full of grease and I have cleaned it really well was it suppose to have grease in the clutch plates? Thank you for your help.

Does your clutch click in when you engage the handel? Most of the ones I saw had bent clutch rods and were too springy to click in.

I don't think they should be packed with grease, but a little shouldnt hurt.

Thanks for the adjustment advice worked perfect, adjusted it out and it pulls great. The clutch rod is bent some but it still clicks in. I appreciate your help it was right on the money. I've been wirebrush and sanding and repainting it back to the original green about half done but it looks really good.
