Pinhole leak in hydraulic line on backhoe. There a clamp or sleeve fix?

Yep. I also assumed hose. Like Harry said braze it if steel. I too have repaired steel lines on my backhoe by brazing. TIG brazing but still brazing. Worked great.

hose splices, so cut the line before and after the pinhole, then put those ends in then. That may be an option too.

The splices thread in to the hose. They are kinda tough to turn but work great. And are a permanent fix. Down the road if you replace the hose just unscrew the splices and save them for another repair.

60 bucks on Amazon. Re-usable hose connectors for repairing hydraulic hose. I repaired a damaged hose on my backhoe with these type of fittings.

Follow up question on those reusable hoses, what am I using to cut the existing hose? Straight up angle grinder?

If this is a pressure hose I would verify the splice is designed for your brand of hose since not all hose is made to the same specs on ID & OD.

Most good hydraulic hose shops won’t crimp new fitting on old hose or at least they won’t in this area.

Hacksaw or angle grinder. Clean the inside of the hose very well. The angle grinder is way easier than a hacksaw.

Cost me $12 or $13 and 10 minutes to get a new hose made just the other day.

Don't feel the lines with your hands to find leaks because there's enough pressure to inject hydraulic oil into your body.

I may just go this route. Remove the line, have a new one made. While I'm there, have them splice in a new line at the pin hole on the old line. I'll have a new line in, and have a spare.

I was just shooting for a quick clamp or something using a sleeve and some ubolts or something.
