I am glad that I waited a little longer before taking the snow blower off the tractor. We got about 12 inches of heavy white snow over night.Just came in from blowing and it was a nightmare as there is no frost under the snow and had to watch not to rip up the driveway etc which was hard to do. Blew a shear pin the first one this year which is good.

Well i too pulled off all snow equipment , cleaned them, touch up paint to stop rust and stored them away. Even if it does snow again, the ground is too sloppy to use the equipment. We have had 5 days low 60s. Still have 2 ft of snow in yatd, but going fast.

Took the chains off my ATV and tractor but I have to wait for some more snow to melt to store everything away. Why is removing things always easier than putting them on?:confused3:

you got that right. It takes me over 3 hours to chain up the tractor, but 30 min to remove the chains. The hydraulic system snd blower add another 2 hours for installation, but since i always have to clean and touch up paint on them, it takes just as long to remove. Then i have to remove all summer items from barn and place all winter items in their place. This is about a 4 hour ordeal. Only good thing is it allows me to clean up the building and reorganize everything. Its amazing how many “so thats where that went” times i find.

I wasnt going to temp fate by removing tractor chains this soon, but muddy ground is being torn up by chains. I pulled them off this morning. I guess i should be ready for 30” of snow tonight:cool2:

Glad to see an honest post. A couple of dealers tried to convince me a front mounted blower was an easy on/off. When none of them actually demonstrated how "quick and easy" it was, I suspected the worst.

Will be using a SSQA front mounted angle blade and maybe adding a 3 pt blower.

i have to first mount the 60 pound hydraulic pump....which is a pain in the butt cause the 2 fixed hoses make it hard to install. Then i mount the tank which holds 25 gal of oil. Then i have to route 2 - 1” hydraulic hoses down and around axles to the front. I had to manufacture several brackets myself to hold hoses inplace. Then i have to mount control wand and route electrical wires to front. Once this is done, it only takes a few minutes to swap between bucket, front plow or front blower. But initial set up is half a day. Maneuvering cold, large and stiff hydraulic hoses sucks. But it all is worth it when i have to move the 120” of snow we received this year.

Dropped the chains off the tractors and swapped out the studded snows from my pickup and my wife's car for the summer tires,
so now it's time for a big April storm.

That's what I'm thinking too!
