Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Pictures of your snow weapons

I've never seen a Unimog with the backhoe/tipper box combination before.

The backhoe is a Schaeff unit (HT-11a) and has side-shift. It itself is 3500lbs but its easy to mount/dismount, takes about 10min to put on or take off if you've done it a few times. Quite a handy tool to have on the farm. The tipper is probably the handiest tool on the Unimog, I used it for making a gravel path, just drop the side (it tips to either side, or rearwards) and drive along the path slowly while tipping, voila, minimal raking after!

On the back, I have a custom built implement, a friend built it for me. Clips into the backhoe mounts when the backhoe isn't there, and uses the highflow from the rear PTO driven tank (Unimog has a front and rear PTO, as well as front and rear hydraulic couplers, 4 up front, 8 out back including the highflow). It has a Superwinch H15P hydraulic winch and two legs to anchor the Unimog for a pull. It's a very handy item. I use it for skidding logs, and doing offroad recoveries

Sure makes changing tire easier!

There's a rear throttle for using the backhoe, and on the steering wheel, this handy lock, you flip that puppy to lock the steering wheel, so when your sitting on the backhoe and want to re-position, you use the backhoe to move the Unimog around, and the tires stay straight.

And it's spring loaded, so should it get accidently flipped driving (unlikely, it has to be pretty deliberate to flip) you can still turn the steering wheel, it's just really hard.

I could use a Mog. I really happy I have at least a soft cab now so I'm not getting the wind and blowing snow. Looks pretty the day after. I hate drifting snow, especially when you just plowed.

I am truly truly jealous, Mogwild. That unimog has to be one of the coolest most useful pieces of kit I've seen on a farm yet!! Other than the ones our army has, I've seen two and driven one of them. A side-tipper would be so handy around my farm

That's pretty cool, I gotta say! Wonder if the wife would like one for our farm?

Whereabouts up here in Canada are you?

In Alberta, there's a Unimog guy with several Unimogs about 3hrs from you though. Super nice guy, I've bought some parts from him, PM me if you wanted his contact info.

@MossRoad, sorry, more of a whiskey man myself. That video started as a joke when I was showing off the winch and anchor, a guy said "yeah, it's nice, but can it open a beer?", so I had to prove it could ;)

Then I "opened" one to show what happens if your not quick on the spool valve (WARNING:GRAPHIC CONTENT):
