The Unimog? Progressive coils at each corner, flexible frame, rides just fine to me either unladen or with the 3500# backhoe on the back (which makes great winter weight, but I have the winch and ground anchor on right now to do recoveries). I guess it depends, what are we comparing it to? I'll put it up against any 1977 HD Truck or tractor for comfort. They did sell them new in Canada, this one's Ex-Bundeswehr from Germany however. And it's nice in the summer to rip to town with the top down for ice cream after finishing trenching power to the barn :D

Plus, it moves snow pretty well for something 40yrs old no?

Sounds like a locomotive...throw a train horn on that bad boy!

I removed the cabin filter outside and drilled screws thru the roof. For now I have the wire just wire tied to the door hinges. In the spring I will drill a couple holes in the rops and run the wire inside to the cab/switch. I replaced the filter after it was bolted on. Plenty of room under it.

Ah, okay. Thanks.

People who don't know about mogs seem to under-value them. Good thing for us.

We had a GS rescued from the Humane Society at about 8 months age with very much the same experience. She was almost certainly abandoned because of hip dysplasia but she lasted until over 13 years before we finally had to say Good Bye. She looked so much like yours those pictures make my eyes a bit damp.

Thanks

When I worked in France 20 years ago there was one parked at a dealership across the street from where I worked. I looked at it every day and have always wanted one.

I've never seen a Unimog with the backhoe/tipper box combination before.

A Unimog is truly impressive.

That video, unfortunately, does not do it justice.

To state it politely.

Well, sorry I work 6days/week and that the Mavic is new to me, and the winds were too high on my one day off to do anything more than that. But if it pleases you this is the other video I shot before the winds picked up:

It's longer, but closer so no horizon shot. Also youtube has a crappy selection of "free to use" music :(

And a drive by, fastest backhoe around ;)
EDIT: Video below, forgot the "one video per post" thing...
