"new" landscape rake I picked up a couple weeks ago. I believe it is an older 72" king kutter rake. All the tines were there and it was in pretty good shape. It came in pretty handy over the weekend raking some rocks and debris from where I'm leveling off the back of my polebarn. I couldn't resist cleaning it off and painting it. I had a set of wheels off of a front end mower that I made a couple quick extensions for a quick set of guage wheels.

Nice tractor. Used rakes around here are hard to find. Do not know how it looked before but you have good looking rake now.

I got lucky. I have looking for a good used rake either 5 or 6' for quite awhile. My BIL has a friend who had a step father pass away here recently.
The gentleman was a real nice guy and really took care of his equipment. The rake was in great shape and had grease all over it. Evidently his guy felt if he just smeared everything in grease it wouldn't rust and it didn't rust hardly at all. I gunked it several times and power washed. I checked it all over - shot it with two coats of rust converter - and then spray bombed everything with blue enamel. It will see lots of work and will sit outside most of the time. I'll keep it clean and painted. I guess I did all right for $250. This is my first time with wheels on a rake. I can't adjust the up and down too much - but if I lengthen the top link I can rake the grass and not lift any grass blades. The only other thing I did was drill the top hole down through the plate so I could run a pin with a hairpin at the bottom. Thanks for the replies.

Looks good. I was really surprised how useful a rake is after I got one and started trying it for different tasks. I built a frame out of angle iron that holds 4 cinder blocks and bolted it across the top of the tine mount/frame. I put either 2 or 4 blocks on it to provide down pressure during grading and it works better than anything else I've used for maintaining a gravel drive and leveling dirt. It is surprising how much material you can move with one when it is angled and they are actually really useful as a snow blade when angled moderately as well. Great find!
