Our oldest Boston was getting to the point that by evening, she could hardly walk with her hind end. The vet said it was just old age and stiff joints. He gave us Flexadin for her joints.

After a week of one chew in the morning she showed significant improvement in her movements. I highly recommend it.

Almost $4K on a cat that swallowed a toy. Cat was young and in good health. I've spent $4K on worse things than a cat. Cat is fine now, BTW.

$900 to get 4 teeth out and $150 a month for heart tablets and diuretics.

I don't even keep track of small bills and cost of meds... I just hand them a different CC every time I go in because I don't want to know how much I'm spending on vet bills. Besides heartworm every month, the flea and tick pill every 3 months, and the pain pills I keep on hand as needed, he also has spells where his feet get inflamed and I have to soak them for 5 minutes twice per day. I also had "fatty tumors" removed from both eyes this year because they were starting to bother him... they have been bothering me for years. At least I didn't pay that bill directly, it's accessed against the pig I get every year.

Yet it's just him and me and I'm not ready to train another pup. I estimate one more after he's gone, then it will be my turn to go.

As an aside; the vet service I go to was started by one guy, who married a woman who is also a vet. She offers acupunture services... I've always thought it was voodoo medicine yet people who have their pets treated claim that it really makes a difference.

The next time that I"m there I am going to ask about the Flexadin… Thank you, CityDude for pointing that out.

Right around $10k for surgery for 5 year old Dalmatian. Kidney stones backed up and cause bladder to literally burst. Emergency surgery at A&M and about 2 weeks stay. About $1,000 a year in meds and special food after that.

Lived to 14, totally worth it.

Last year I gave our son 3600 bucks for his dog to treat cancer. Couple tears before that, gave our daughter 2800 bucks for her dog...
They both died within months, but the Vet's were happy.

Did you mean to write tears or years?
In the context of your post, either or both can apply.

My dog gets a shot once a year for heartworm. I think it was around $200. Used to be a shot every 6 months, but last year they came out with the one good for a year.

It up's the cost on her annual vaccinations and 4 panel tests. But now it's easy to keep up with the heart worm treatment

I spend about $160 for 6 months worth of flea and tick treatment.

The most we spent was $800 for our shepherd to be spayed and boarding for a couple days.

I took my Cocker Spaniel to the vet this summer. He got a rash in the "nether region" after being shaved too close. The dog groomer will NEVER make that mistake again. $50 haircut - $145 vet bill.

Ya oosik you have to watch out for the animal hair fluffers, my boy a 13 year old Ausie (14 in November) has been going to the same person all his life not one problem.

edit . . . $2400.00 on my past girl . . . half GS and half Rot gave her 2 more years.

Wow, but you love that dog . . .
