Pets

Thanks for the tip Junkman. I'll keep that in mind the next time my pup gets hold of my boxers. I keep them in the hamper but she pulls them through the holes in the sides.

Michael - Those Berners are great looking. They must have something about socks, dish rags, nylons, and black walnuts...... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. My Moms have been thru them all /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. The black walnut incident required surgery but everything is fine now. Again great pic. Chuck

My vet told me that those little Super Balls that used to be so popular were the worst. He said they were small enough for a dog to swallow easily but just large enough to get stuck trying to pass out of the stomach. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Here are my 4 generations of Golden girls waiting for a tractor to come home (still waiting, hopefully soon!).

I noticed you like to name your dogs after explosive weapons. Pyromaniac? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good looking group of pooches you have. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Got Milk? My daughter brought this kitten home 2 weeks ago. She found it on the highway. The kitten may have been 4 weeks old and very dehydrated. We fed it with a syringe and a dropper. I named it Tobe, thinking to be or not to be; I wasn't sure if it would survive or not. He is doing fine now and eating by himself out of a bowl. I now have 3 labs, 3 cats, 4 peafowl,4 guineas, and other critters running around. I have my labs posted in the photos section.

To All; This past weekend, [upnorth ofcourse], I thought I was going to have to put down my Malamute, Una. She was drinking massive amounts of water and passing huge puddles. She looked like death warmed over. We usually have her with us up there, but this time it was a neccesity. She had been going downhill for a week or so. We had been giving her glucosamine for her arthritis for about a month.

Luckily my wife, who is the smart RN she is, thought about any changes we had made in her diet etc. It dawned on us the glucosamine. We quit giving her the glucosamine immediatley on Saturday morning. Now it's Tuesday evening and luckily she appears back to normal.

I mentioned where we were because with no available vet around, it was going to have to be me to put her down. I'm 53 years old and was in tears. She is just a great dog to have with you. I'm sure glad the RN in the family was there.

The point of this is, maybe you guys should beware of glucosamine also. You don't want to feel like I was this weekend.

Boy does the light colored one have a silky, shiny coat. Gerard

The light colored one is Star, a 2 year old Weimeraner female. The other is Molly, the 3 year old Mini Dachshund female. She is the instigator of the pair, starts the fights, but looses every time to the bigger one. Good thing that Star is gentle with her, because with one shake, Molly could be history.
They both eat Canidae All Life Stage Dog Food. Have been feeding this to them for about 1 1/2 years now. Works well for my dogs, and that is all that they get to eat. I can highly recommend it to you for your dog. Ask the store if they have the "buy 10, get one free" program. We offer this in our store. Here is the manufacturers web page
