Hi...new to this forum...first time actually posting. Really enjoy getting info from others as I seek certain information. I just bought a 2014 / 950 hr Terex TSV 50 skid steer with cab. Nice over all condition. Seems a bit cold blooded...glow plug about 20 to 30 seconds in 35 to 40 degree...just above freezing. I am used to Bobcat and have owned a Daewoo 601 (which actually though small is the best garage backfill machine I have had). I grew up learning to run stuff at about 30% throttle and make more fluid precise moves. I usually work around new AC and concrete or new homes etc...can't afford paying for "Dings" plus the builder harrasment.
The Terex is non-turbo...so you have to be aware of that and compensate accordingly. I have heard the Perkins engine is normal to be a bit cold blooded.
Need another opinion...I am going to take oil sample this week because I bought it for the purpose of resale. 2014

Hi

Welcome to the forum!

I have a 2015 Terex/ ASV PT110 Forestry CTL with a Perkins engine.
With what I do (mulching) I am at full throttle 99% of the time.
It has a turbo.
I can adjust the speed at full command from 20% to 100% and it is pretty darn smooth and responsive to the controls.

The glow plugs are automatic as you turn the key on. When the glow plug indicator light goes out start the engine. It rarely takes more than a few seconds even when well below freezing. I have not seen that it is cold blooded at all so I can't really help you in that area.

Welcome to the forum.

My Cat 246 has a Perkins 78HP.. the glow plugs are activated once I turn the key 1/2 way, then hold the glow plug switch down for a few seconds. Last year I replaced all of the Glow plugs because dirt and mud had collected around the top of the plugs and rusted them away. It was very difficult to start in the winter. I would check the condioof yours... mine were a total pita to fix.....had to pull the head off.
