There is a guy in New Hampshire selling good quality clamp on receivers that use a ratchet strap as a safety device. I have one and it does not slip, get sideways...or fall off the bucket. It was about $100, free shipping when I got this one.

Jim, I don't wish to offend but I don't believe good quality and ratchet strap as a safety device go together.

Thanks for that information. No offense taken, however the point that you apparently missed is that a secondary method is available for ensuring that a clamp on FEL device does not easily fall off the front of the bucket.

The "Quality" that I was referring to had nothing to do with the ratchet strap....rather with the construction of the clamp on receiver.....which I thought was nicely built and at a reasonable price.....which to me are key ingrediants of quality.

Safety....of almost everything that we use our tractors for....is somewhat in the hands and mind of the operator.

I guess if I was nervous about the clamp on device becoming disconnected with a ratchet strap (which I am not)... as the machine operator I could decide to attach a chain and chain binder in place of the ratchet strap.

I like the idea of ratchet straps for a saftey, better then nothing. Depending on how big the straps are, you could lift the tractor and trailer with one.
