Patriots do it again!

Ah yes... seems like a lifetime ago to Giant's fans 'ay?

I'm one of a tiny minority that doesn't think the last play call was that bad. Had it worked the announcers-- instead of carrying on about how terrible a call it was-- would have been saying something like: "WOW-- great call! EVERYONE assumed they were going to run the ball and that pass caught the defense totally unprepared. Great call!".

There isn't going to be enough time for this to be let go as a Patriots fan. For a Giants fan, the only "life time" aspect of this will be the memory.

I absolutely agree. There isn't enough credit given to Butler, who wasn't just in the right place at the right time - he made an OUTSTANDING defensive play. He literally blasted the receiver off the ball.

Actually it was a poorly thrown ball. If you watch the clip from directly behind Wilson, he threw it directly to Butler. I still would have handed it to the beast, but it is what it is. Great game.

Beg to differ. If you think Patriots excessive attention to preparation is a myth, think again. The Patriots practiced against that exact play. Robert Kraft on CBS [after making a deflated balls joke :RIMSHOT ].

Butler got beat in practice on Wednesday on the same play, Kraft said,

And Bill Belichick came up to him and said, look, Malcolm, when they line up stacked and as soon as you see that ball centered, don't wait to see which way they are going because you are going to get picked. You go right for the right and you go for the ball.

Butler interception in slow motion, with commentary. The QB threw to a spot: the Patriots disrupted the route and the timing.

The QB threw to a spot

Right and Wilson should have adjusted or tossed it away, there was time. The defender was in the "spot". Bad throw/decision. I would never throw to a "spot" in traffic with that much on the line considering the options. Even NE thought they had lost the game, watch the bench replays. You can't say it was not a bad bass, it was intercepted and they lost. Pretty good evidence of a bad pass in my book. Congrats to the Pats, they deserved to win.
