Patriotic Displays

Over the last couple of weeks there have been many displays of patriotism, but what Texas A&M did Saturday at their game with Oklahoma State really stands out to me. Those who saw the game or saw pictures of the stands will know what I mean.
For those who didn't. Kyle Field the home of the Fighting Texas Aggies, has three decks. Ticket holders on the top were asked to buy red T shirts, middle white T shirts, bottom blue T shirts, with proceeds going to the WTC charity. It was a huge success. Third largest crowd ever at kyle field. Hulabaloo canek canek.
Anybody else see anything patriotic they felt inspired about?

Really, I was looking for some good that may have come out of the terrible events of 9/11. Something positive, hopefull. Somedays you can't do nothing wrong, and other days......Ah well.

Or how about all of those Patriotic americans complaining about there being no US flags at the store to buy and fly.. Seems to me if they were Patriotic americans they would have the flags in the first place.

Now we have to deal with all the Patriotic americans who somehow feel that the US flag is now a good fashion acessory. flag ear rings, flag bracelets, flag pins. Way to go america...

Are the american people really supporting the US or going along with the latest trend to display the flag?
I hope its a show of support, but I am sure its a trend for some.

Agreed, for some it may be a trend, but I think the majority have a new found admiration for what the flag represents. I guess the real test will be in the up coming months.

Anyway another couple of items, in Western Washington there have been incidents of FLAG STEALING! Wow, show your patriotism by STEALING.

The other thing that is making me wretch...

This big color newspaper ads from car dealers with the "UNITED WE STAND" and "KEEPING AMERICA MOVING" with all the flags. Does anyone else see this as anything but money grubbing BULLSXXT? I know we have Washington's birthday sales for toilet paper, and Easter sales for transmission oil, but sales crap based on the deaths of thousands?

Have also seen some nice lit up houses, "Christmas" lights in red white and blue, one house, their whole roof was done in a Flag of lights.

Sometimes, the Ad boys just don't know when to stop.

Let's throw some fuel on the fire. Have any of you heard about some Law firms posting ads in the NYC newspapers and TV about class action lawsuits!!! Yep, it's begun. The one I heard about yesterday is a class action suit for people who have been traumatized by watching the planes smash into the WTC over and over. I'm hoping that it's a bunch of BS, but I wouldn't put it past the ambulance chasers. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif
