We as landlords have 320 acres of fenced in pasture that will be up for lease shortly. I have a few questions as to what others think or know.
I've heard that pasture is anywhere between $15-$25 / acre. I also know a few who leased improved pastures with Jigs for $45/acre although one cutting would pay for itself.
I do know that any land with DCP or CRP program the landowner must maintain the land, but this can be worked out in the lease agreement where less is given per acres to compensate for maintenance.
- What is average cost/acre for un-improved pasture with fence.
- Who is responsible for repairing fence
- Who is responsible for shredding or maintaing grass/weeds
- Who is responsible for spraying weeds/grass
