Parse errors...odd characters etc...

Up until now I assumed most of the text parse errors were due to iphone formats or pasted (formatted) text from 3rd parties...
Just now I hit the "reply with quote" button (link below) and the text in the quote tags has odd characters that are not present in the original post text...???

I sometimes see that on my own posts. It seems to happen most when I include an attached or inserted photo with the text. It seems to happen most with Alt+code stuff like the degree symbol. If I go back in and edit out the jibberish and re-save, it goes away.

This happened as soon as I hit the "reply with quote" button...I had not entered anything text etc...??

It is triggered by the apostrophe, something to do with newer smart phones.

I've seen it in a lot of posts, but strange the way it showed up when you hit the "reply with quote" button.

I've seen these type of symbols/characters on posts ever since I joined TBN. I just assumed it was folks posting from cell phones and hitting random characters. Usually no problem - you can read right thru the weird characters and make sense of what is being said.

FWIW...I have never posted from a smartphone...always a PC...

I saw them show up when I quoted someone else's post the other day, before I even did any editing. The characters were not present in the original post. Suggests to me it's a problem on the site.
