I've been having some problems with my parking brake recently. When I want to get off the tractor and leave it running it almost always stalls out even though its in neutral and the parking brake light is on. What I usually do is put the tractor in neutral and move the treadle back and forth to make sure is really in neutral. Then I set the parking brake firmly and the light comes on. Stand up from the seat and in a few seconds it dies out. If I just lightly set the brake then the tractor will stay running but the brake won't actually hold the tractor on a slope. I usually set the loader down either way to add some extra friction. Has anyone else had this problem? Any guesses on a solution?

Sounds to me like the safety switch that's attached to the parking brake needs a bit of attention. I would block the wheels for safety sake and slide under the tractor for a look see.

Be sure that the full motion of the switch is taking place when the brake is set.

Thanks, I'll try to take a look at that.
