Pamphlets.

One of the ladies at work today brought up a interesting point.
She was looking thru all of my Kubota & John Deere & New Holland pamphlets.
1.All the tractor look so neat and clean also the people showing them off.
2.How come they don't show the tractor really working and the people with dirt on them.

What I have noticed is that some old tractor ads show the tractor as being nice and clean but usually had a driver who could at least pass for a farmer. The 8n and Dearborn ads were b&w photos and hard to tell just how clean the machinery was. Some of the photos were artistically colored and retouched. Red was made to really stand out. Of course, most of the old ads show the tractor plowing, disking, or harrowoing. Working in the dirt.

Yeah, they don't stay that clean for long, although Bird would probably tell another story since his tractor is spotless. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I have a JD compact tractor brochure from the mid-90's with a 955 TLB on the cover... they had a nice idea to make it look dirty, but you could see where they wiped the mud on the tractor... /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Maybe the people in the pamphlets are Tractorbynetians who are so transfixed by our mesmerizing forum that they have no time left to use their tractors.

Yeah, Muhammad, it's tough keeping one clean./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif I let my brother use my tractor this past weekend to move a lot of dirt, and he brought it back covered in dust. So I moved a little dirt myself this morning before I washed it.
