No... I think the bite will be worse if my better half catches wind of my stunt with her attire. I could be experiencing frostbite. The doghouse is not heated.

Your PALLET doghouse, right? I guess it would be rather difficult to insulate the voids.

I thought we had eradicated the feral pallets hereabouts; went to Farmer's market yesterday, and there was a whole stack of them, off by them selves, unattended. I think they were in hibernation; they appeared harmless.

Be careful. In my experience that is when they are most dangerous.
I once saw one all by itself. It was adorable. It smashed the big toe on my left foot when I tried to pick it up.

Especially wounded ones. They seem to bite me when I’m not careful handling them.
It must have been female. They have that talent when the wrong guy tries to pick them up.

I just carry a small can of Linseed oil with me; that seems to calm them down. If I didn't know better, I would think they were actually becoming affectionate...

They are small and easy to overlook when very young.
Spotting gets easier as they grow.
