I have 3 pallets with broken slats, and appear to be dead. They are no longer welcome in the Pallet Family. Execution is inevitable.

Will I need to dig a grave for them, or will cremation be adequate?

Cremation of course... and then a magnet sweep to recover the nails for to add to the collection of odd scrap and the eventual making of metal yard art.

If you can get the injured pallets to a pallet rehabilitation facility they might be able to rerurn to the pallet community.

I would consider it almost torture what they do to those poor crippled pallets!

The only facilities like that around here have a sign out front that says "BULK MULCH". That's not a good sign.

Maybe they quit doing that. Back in the late 60's there used to be one near my house. The owners gave us a hay trailer load of their culls once. A few years later I needed more, went back to the same place and had to pay for them. I guess they weren't culls that time.

The place I retired from only used new pallets, and lots of them. ~ 1,000 a week
The suppler would give us 75 cents for all used pallets they picked up from us, regardless of their condition
