Pallets in fields

Next y誕ll will be talking bout dressing in camo, putting up 菟allet blinds? getting your weapons ready, and pallet hunting. Just wondering, what do you put in a feeder to attract them?
Ordinarily a forklift would attract them and they would impale themselves. But these are not your ordinary pallets.

Since I have dismembered pallets myself lately, I sleep with one eye open

Lol. My wife wanted to build something with pallet wood. After all the time it took to disassemble them I would have gladly bought the wood.

Wood is still out back rotting.

I had easy access to really pristine and well-built pallets at my last office, as the business behind us got a lot of truck shipments, and discarded or left them for pick up at will.

We take them apart about as often as we reinforce them for use- which is at least weekly.

and a key concept- we use the wood for other things-

It's easy if you use one of these:

Amazon.com: ikris Heavy Duty Steel Pallet Buster 41", Red: Home Improvement

and one of these:

Air locker ap7 professional Punch Nailer/Nail Remover - Power Brad Nailers - Amazon.com

The stringers we mostly burn or throw them into the woods to rot, as they're harder to find uses for.

De-cluttered our barn over the weekend, and had need to dispose of a pallet in poor shape. I carried it out to the pasture burn pile and unceremoniously dumped it. It's the only one out there, so I'm hopeful it won't get up to any mischief before I burn the nails out of it.

Well that’s rude. Looks like he still has some life in him. Tell the truth, you’re using him as bait to lure others? :D

Broken and missing slats are not going to attract proper pallets.

This thread is like the walking dead!
The main difference is 'The Walking Dead' requires an IQ just slightly above one's age to be amusing or entertaining etc...!

Shirley there must be a rest home for old pallets.
Not sure who Shirley is but let me be Frank with you... pallets deserve respect. Maybe you are indeed on to something with the reason for the inverted V's. Don't recall anyone suggesting the pallets in the fields were just put out to pasture so they could live out the rest of their lives in peace.

And yet here we are.

Someone somewhere in another thread recently mentioned a thread similar to this that just kept going and going. But I can’t remember the title to find it.

Blood OATH! :eek:ath: Pallets are the ubiquitous companion to anyone who has a rural property. They are used for so many things, in addition to their original function. The quest to discover the reason for the inverted V's is one of exploration into the continuous usefulness and versatility of the humble pallet.

There are numerous threads, here on TBN alone, asking advice on pallet forks (weight, quality, clamp-on, etc...) yet, you can't have a true need for pallet forks without first requiring a pallet to be moved.

I know that I need more pallets for future projects and plans; some of which I haven't imagined yet! <he says, stoically looking off to the horizon...>

Actually, you can have pallet forks and not have pallets. :)

Or even in pieces?

I drove past a painted pallet by the road the other day, but it wasn’t as artistically done as the one above. It had some writing on it listing a price per dozen. I thought that was a good price for painted pallets.

As I drove past the next time, I was disappointed to see that they were selling eggs!
