Pallets in fields

   / Pallets in fields #2,431
Steve and I have been in correspondence regarding a goose shortage in South Carolina. He reminded me of the theory that pallets in fields might frighten geese away and I want to thank anyone and everyone who's been inverting their pallets in the upstate.

Let the record show that I remain skeptical regarding the validity of this so-called "theory." Earlier in this thread I posted this image that debunks the "theory."

Man, that's the worst photochopped image I've seen in a long time, at least don't cut the goslings in half.

No man its a special camera he uses. He would never think of such a thing!!!!

I am thinking he didn't put a lot of effort into that one..:mischievous::mischievous:

Something sinister must be going on here. The pallet is no longer standing in the field after the geese arrived.

I have done this, Steve, but only as a long-term experiment as to the benefits of Inverted V Pallet Structures.

However I believe that I can tentatively report that, as a Canada Goose repellent, it is working brilliantly. I've not recorded or seen one Canada Goose here in Tasmania.

It also appears to work for tigers! Not one sighting... which is a relief!

Yeah, but you got them Tasmanian Devil's, and they are worse than any Tiger I ever saw here in Missouri... :D We do have them pooping gooses though... lots of em around the lake.

Tassie Devils are scavengers... and right now there's a mouth cancer that's really knocked down their population (poor buggers). They're trying to breed a safe population IOT release back into the wild here but a bunch of them have been nailed by cars as they've been feeding on road-kill themselves. Very powerful, bone cracking, jaws on them. A rare sight now = very sad.

There was a Tasmanian Tiger (thylacine) which was declared extinct in the '80s... but there's still hope (and a reward) that it's not so. The Tassie Tiger is even on our vehicle license plates.
