Long answer: The original poster asked a neighbor, as the landowner is in another state. Neighbor "thinks" they were put up as some kind of "goose scarecrow".. what ever that is. "scaregoose?"

This could be time traveling blueriver, portal guard, prepared to prune somebody.
Robert, Are you thinking Steve is a portal guard too? I wasn't quite clear if Steve was a strap-hanging commuter, or he was guarding the portals against alien strap-hangers? I've seen some strap hangers on the LIRR, they could sure pass for aliens.

Steve and I live in a state with a severe shortage of strap hanging conveyances. Unless his TARDIS is equiped with one, there's little chance he's a strap hanger.

We may not know the answer, but we are still looking for portals and searching for answers. I would say we are doing it "cleanly", but I happen to like getting into dirt. I have to do some more hoeing in the garden SOON. Maybe I will find a portal and vortex while I am there? If I am not sucked in, I'll report here first!
Will I need pallets to cross the vortex, or will the pallets be a detriment? :confused3: :anyone:
