Pallets in fields

Like this incident. <img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=469910"/> Bruce
These stories are little reported but obviously there is a back story here. This guy had a lack of RIP (respect in pallets)?

Pallet wrangling is a lot like being around any livestock, be confident and wary at the same time... and always wear good leather gloves when handling them or they'll splinter ya when you least expect it. But a properly handled/loaded pallet used for a purpose that it was created to do is a joy to behold.

That Iraqi illegal migrant made a rookie mistake and got amongst a mob of under-restrained pallets in a moving environment. The pallets spooked, shifted and he paid the price for his lack of respect (RIP indeed, dragoneggs).

So as Wagtail says, there is pallet wrangling. Is there also pallet rustling? I have seen some pallets with brands.

THE PALLET BLACK MARKET
A not insignificant source of that pallet loss is theft. While numbers are not definitive, Jerry Welcome, president of the Reusable Packaging Association, estimates that tens of millions of dollars' worth of reusable packaging and containers are stolen every year.

CHEP estimates that each year, about 1 million pallets travel through the black market. This includes pallets that are being stolen along with the product loaded on them, pallets being stolen alone, and pallets that are being "misused" (such as being made into furniture or fencing), says Gormley.

Most of the pallet theft is perpetrated by an individual thief picking up unattended pallets behind a store, according to Welcome. But there have been cases of organized crime rings stealing pallets and containers.

I agree. Like many breeds of dogs ( and some other animals), they need a job. Pallets that are not engaged become destructive. Idle pallets are the devil's workshop. Or so I've heard.

I have a friend with a Ph.D. in Palletology. He is working in a research position looking for the cure to Palletosis.
