When I was mucking around looking for a good location to mount my Prince SV stack valave, my wife who was helping me, was wondering whether or not I'd be painting the valve to match the tractor.

I couldn't give her a good reason as to why the valve couldn't be painted but I thought I'd check here just in case.

Once the tierods have been torqued, should I still be worried that if I used spray paint on it after covering essential areas like the ports, inputs, outputs etc., that some paint would get into the work sections?

Go-ahead and paint it, if paint can get in then you have a bigger problem of oil getting out!

Yeah, Kenny is right. Go ahead and paint it.
I paint mine before I install it. I use pipe plugs in the ports and tape off the chrome plunger(s) for the handle.

Thanks for all the help gents. My valve came with plastic plugs in all the ports so I figure I'm covered once I use masking tape on the plunger handles.

I've just gotta pick - Kubota orange or ROPS grey :)
