Okay spring fever is wearing me out on thinking of things to do.

I gotta touch up the ol' First Choice tiller.

I have snot yellow box blade and 1 row cultivator. They really need a healthly dose of Kubota orange paint. How much paint will a 4' box blade take? I'm pretty sure one can will do the cultivator.

Not sure exactly how much, but I'd use a good primer over that old paint first to prevent bleed through. You'll need less of the final color if you prep it well, i.e. sand the existing paint (no need to remove it, just go over it all), prime it to completely cover the old paint, and add the new color. You may get by with only one spray can of the final color. John

I don't think I used half a quart of Rust-Oleum when I painted my 5' KK rear blade.
All I did was lightly scuff the surface with some sandpaper and then applied the paint (2 coats of gloss black) with the disposable foam brushes from the dollar store. Plowed all winter with only a couple of scratches showing that horrid mustard yellow. A 5 minute touch-up when the blade comes off.

hey boman,

It took 2 cans to paint my KK 4' box blade. I removed the scarifers and the attaching hardware before I painted the box. Looks good.

We'll be the judge of that, if you post some pictures! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif John

It's a good looking Cub Cadet yellow (looks a lot better than the King Kutter yellow). I'll post some pictures after I paint the brackets (Cub Cadet blue) and bolt them back on the box. Getting a lot of rain today and more is forecasted for the rest of the weekend so I hope you can wait until Tuesday or Wednesday for pics.

Should I paint the scarifers?? I'm thinking Cub Cadet blue to match the blue stripes on the sides of the tractor hood.

I may even have to get some Cub Cadet decals for the sides of the box....now I'm getting a little carried away...painting the sacrifers is getting carried away.

Maybe, but aren't you worth having things the way you'd like to have them? I know I work hard and deserve it. John
