Don't know how mine look before it came off .But if it was braded they forgot to do it.Maybe Hoyetractor or some one will post a picture of a new one.I would like to see a picture of one . Because I do need a new one for my YM1700 so I don't have to take them off all the time.

I got mine from fredricks new and it came braded no c- clip found on it anywhere. I don't know if hoye & fredricks get them from the same place or not. If you have a tractor supply close , you could see how their's are made.

I know this is an old thread, but.....

I was bush hogging today and the over running clutch came off the tractor's PTO shaft. Just like what happened to most people on this thread, the spring and pin came out. It is lost in the field somewhere. It is the tupe that does NOT have the C-clip.

My question is: Can just the spring and pin be replaced? If so, WHERE can I get the replacement parts with a c-clip?
If the replacement parts can't be found, then I will buy the over running clutch with the roll pin.

With all the problems that everybody are having, I really think these quick detach ones are junk.

Thanks,
Travis

Tractor supply will have them . if you get the pin at tractor supply .go to a hardware and get the c-clip it will be a better one.

I have one of the same overrun clutches and it fell apart the first day I received it, I did find my pin and spring. I when to the Auto parts store and got a C -clip and it is doing good TODAY.

Ok. I am now 100% confident that the quick dis-connect over running clutches are JUNK!!

Mine just completely come apart! One half is on the tractor's PTO shaft, the other half is on the bush hog's drive shaft. Luckily, nothing else is tore up. I didn't even bother to look at what happened. I'm plum disgusted with the quality of these type clutches.

Where is the best place to buy the one with the roll pin? Agri Supply? Tractor Supply?

I am assuming that I need the one thats 1 3/8 inch male x 1 3/8 inch female splines. Overall length will be 6 3/4 inches long?

I am really surprised at all of the defective quick attach over run couplers. My dad has one that he uses on his bush hog with his Mitsubishi tractor and that O.R. has been on there since about 1998. It has been bullet proof.

I bought mine at a little Napa Auto parts near my house. Since it is in a rural part of the county he stocks common tractor stuff $39 and have been using it over 2 years now with any problems

I ended up ordering the one with the roll pin last night from Agri Supply. It was right at $34.00 delivered to my door. I sure hope this one holds up.

sorry to dredge up this old thread, but I just found it and wanted to add my 2 cents.

I have a YM1601d and use it for bush-hogging and some roto-tilling. Since I bought the tractor a little over a year ago I've been through 4 overrun clutches. Each came from ________, and each randomly fell apart. One of the metal blocks (the ratchet piece) broke in two. But the other three? Who knows. They just came apart.

Are there any American companies that make these overrun clutches? The ones _______ gets (and I guess most all of these parts places) are made in China/Asia/India somewhere where quality isn't a concern. I wouldn't be surprised if the Chinese make them to tear up just to have a revenue stream.

So -- does any American company manufacture overrun clutches? Yes I am willing to pay more for a quality U.S. made product.
If there is such a thing please post a website or phone number. Thanks!

Has anyone tried one of these? The ad says they are heavy duty and do not come apart like the "cheap" clutches other venders sell?

I don't know if it's a bad sign that they advertise their repair kits along with the ORCs.

True, but the asian made clutches do not have rebuild kits, they are essentially throw-away items. (unless you get "lucky" and it breaks shortly after you buy it, then the dealer will usually replace at no cost).

Queeny, does your output shaft have a hole for the 'pin' type ?

Yes. The dealer I bought the quick attach clutch(es) from sells the pin type, but they are the exact same except for how the clutch attaches to the PTO. Same body, c-clip and innards.

I'm looking for a different manufacturer altogether. Preferably someone who hires Americans to manufacture the products they sell. :)

I had 1 of those on an old TO 20 once. I never hay problems with it... The 1 on my tractor came from Fredricks & has been on since I purchased the tractor XXX yrs ago.. Never a problem.. Could it be you are cutting in the wrong PTO gear & destroying them ?? Just a thought

I have never put the PTO in anything over 540 RPM, which is the recommended (MAX) rpm for operating the bush hog and tiller.
