I have a Service manual on my JD 1050 that I just acquired and in it it shows that the 850 and 950 has an internal Overriding clutch pack but nowhere does it show that the 1050 has one???? Can some of you tell me if mine has one internal to the tranny or do I need to be installing one on my external PTO output shaft like I have on my TO-30?? If it matters my serial number is #0039XX. If you know the answer for sure, please let me know. I don't want to break something I can't/don't want to spend money on like a new PTO/Tranny rebuild.

Thx: Greasy Fingers

None of the 1050's needed an external over-running clutch. They have two stage clutch instead. The earlier serial number 850 and 950's had single stage clutches with internal over-running clutch. The later ones used the same setup as the 1050.
