Overheating Jinma 284

You need a 82C one or there abouts.
On the pre-EPA engines, it probably should be 80C or less. I had two with an 80C, one with a 72C, and one with a 70C. The 82C I'm thinkin' might be on 2007 and/or later engines.

Or else the factory just slaps in whatever comes out of the thermostat bin. Who knows.......

Peter,
Had the same problem with one of my yanmar tractors. After multiple radiator flushes, several overall flow bottles, and a water pump, it turned out to be the WRONG head gasket was installed on the tractor during the refurb process. It wasn't allowing the coolant to circulate complete through the block liked it was supposed to. I don't think it ever got bad enough to warp the head any, but the gasket ultimately failed and exhaust started showing up in the coolant. The dealer I bought it from made me a great deal on a trade in for a mitsubishi. So, I am not sure what all he did to repair it. But, I think it was just replace the headgasket with the right one and problem solved.

I have one of the early tractor king 254s with the battery in front of the radiator. Is this a bolt on conversion?

Yes the battery box will bolt on, you may have to get longer cables, ect.Thi battery box comes on the newer Jinma tractors,we have sold several of them and apparently they all worked> we can exchange a few pics to confirm everything just let me know

I agree with some of the other guys on here possible cracked liner or blown head gasket I'm having a similar problem with my John Deere but when my 05 jinma was tring to over heat I changed coolent to a desial engine coolent and also noticed my fan was placed to far inside the fan shroud there was a one inch spacer on the fan so I removed it to move the fan back out of the fan shroud where it would alow the fan to pull more air though the radiator I also installed a new thermostat and and water pump due to bearing failure now I haven't had a problem with the cooling system
