That would be a pygmy possum.
Another tiny cute one we get here ocassionally is the Sugar Glider. Not much bigger than a mouse.

Kangaroos, wallabies, deer, lots of parrots, scrub turkeys, rarely a fox or dingo. And of course the odd snake, scorpion, legless lizard etc.
Also get visited by wood ducks and whistling ducks and the usual plovers, magpies, crows etc
Haven't seen a Yowie yet.

What type of deer? Is there a native deer species to Australia? I thought that they where all introduced and only in small areas.

Eddie, I guess they are just red deer. They are all over the place and as you say, probably introduced. They are not protected.
