OUT WITH THE L4330, IN WITH THE L5030

Hey Muleskinner...I am also in So Cal in the Antelope Valley with my L4330 GST and 72" Box Blade. I am doing the same work you are describing but mey tractor has the GST trans and I think this is the issue. MY L4330 has plenty of power to spin its wheels and will dig itself down up to the axles when I get into soft uneven material with the BB full. Just my opinion, I think the L5030 is the choice, but with the GST instead of the HST.
By the way, which dealer are you having such a good service experience with??
Take care,
Runk

( So, the dealer is going to take the L4330 back AT NO COST TO ME. Just like I never purchased it. )

Why can't I have a dealer around here like that? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Most dealers around here are on the other end of the spectrum. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Congrats on a great deal. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's Al's Kubota in Hemet. The guys great. He only had the L5030 in HST. I will have to make it work. I put in 7 1/2 hours yesterday on my B7800 finish grading a new residence. It was 115 degrees!!! I'm beat. I did 3 hours on a job today and called it quits. It's way too hot out there. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Yes it's costing me a total of $2567.00, including tax at 8%, to upgrade to the 5030. I'm not complaining I understand the unit is around two grand more anyway. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

No. I'm in a old movie town called "Pioneertown." (Cira 1946) It's where Gene Autry and Roy Rogers made most of their cowboy films. It's about 45 min N/E of Palm Springs. 29 Palms Marine Base is 45 min east of me.

Pioneertown is 4500 feet elevation. Were upper "High" desert. Low humidity. It snows in the winter and get super cold. 115 degree days are not normal for here. 100 is a HOT day for around here. Now in Palm Springs where it is about 1000 feet elevation. it was 122 degrees yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Wow, and I thought Texas was hot in July/August. I find it hard to breath when the temp gets to 110, maybe you need to get the HSTC.

The big difference is we have a very low level of humidity. I've been to Tulsa, OK in July and at 80 degrees I was amazed at the humidity. I could not handle that.

It is likely to hit 100 here in Tulsa today - too hot for me to run the tractor in the sun except in the morning hours.

At least it's not Houston.

I have received quotes from two local dealers on the L5030HST in the last couple of weeks, but I am also contemplating the L4330. This thread has been interesting.

I took my L4330 to the dealer this morning so they could swap out what they needed. Low and behold, they got another L39 in yesterday one month early. So I put my rear end on the seat and drove it around. The GST is strange to drive after becoming used to the HST. But,,,the GST has some LOW gearing and 12 speeds forward. I beleive I could get used to the shuttle shift and I also agree with the gentlman who said the GST is what I should have for grading.

So, another change, they are now preping the L39 with a Gearmore top and tilt system using my 72" Gannon. (Can you believe Kubota does not make a complete top & tilt system for the L39 yet. They only have the valving, hoses and brakets. No supplier for the HYD clyinders has been choosen yet!)

I hope I have not made a mistake. The dealer just smilled and asked me if I wanted to go have a beer and think about my choice. I said no, put it together! One good thing,,the L39 is $1200.00 cheaper than the L5030! Plus I get skid steer quick change FEL and Auto level. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

After looking at the L39 I can see it is made for industrial use, where the Grand L series appears to be designed more for farm type work. I think I have made the right choice. Time will tell. I hope so because there is no way the dealer will take this one back! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
