Kubota M105X
Used the old Oliver 1755 diesel for many years, but was time to update. Got a new Kubota M105X. Hope it lasts, will only use it for moving round bales, chopping some corn stalks for bedding, JD 8 row wide cultivator, and clearing snow from 2 farm yards.

That is one seriously nice piece of equipment. I love it!! The M105X is like the (very) big brother of the M8540 I'm looking at. Congratulations!

Lots and lots of buttons and gadgets to learn about, nothing like the old Oliver. If I got any questions I will certainly ask on this board........thanks guys.

What will become of the old Oliver? At least the new one is color coordinated. Where are you located, nothing in your profile?

Yeah, give us some information in your profile. Anyone who buys a >100hp tractor makes me curious about location and acreage. Just being nosy.

BTW, welcome to TBN!!

OK guys here goes, I live in southern Minnesota. I farm 250 acres of corn, soybeans, small grains, and hay. Have a 30 cow beef herd, raise the calves to market weight, also have 25 sows and raise all the pigs to market weight. Most of the corn goes to feeding the livestock, but have some soybeans to sell on the open market. Raised 4 kids and none wanted to farm, so it is just me and ma working the farm. My big tractor is a 2-135 White (140 hp) that I do the heavy work, also a 2030 JD with loader, a '48 M JD that my dad bought new, a 730 JD diesel that is still in service, and oh yeah a '48 M Farmall. The combine I use is a '69 105 corn special, diesel/hydro. The Oliver got sold a friend of mine and is still a pretty good old tractor. The new Kubota will be the last tractor I sell, and that will be when they plant me. Hope this gives you a little info about my operation. Dave Preuhs, Le Center, Mn. I just went in and edited my profile.

I guess the next question is, why Kubota? Most of your other machines are JD. I'm just curious because Kubota seems to have a huge amount of market share for the CUT market and weekend warriors like me. Whereas JD and NH still seem to represent the majority of serious Ag machines. My B-I-L is a life-long JD and Case man but he says if he ever buys another tractor for his 2000 acre cattle ranch it will be a Kubota. Why did you choose Kubota?

My wife and I have been looking for several years for a different loader tractor. We looked at JD 6420 and Ford New Holland TS100, I have a Bobcat skid steer with Kubota and it has been a great little machine, so I checked into Kubota tractors as there are several dealers in my area. I choose the Kubota dealer at Miesville, Mn as he was an old Oliver dealer and is now a totally Kubota dealer with several side lines. He gave me a very good deal besides the tractor having as many or more features as the JD but 15 to 20 grand less money. We really like the loader with joy stick, sure makes it easy maneuvering around in the cattle yards with the short wheelbase. Looks to be a keeper for me.
