If you really own a piece of property in NH, then you can take delivery in NH and the UCC will be filed in NH. But you'll need an address in NH to have the statements sent (if you take the financing option).
CT can't have any tax money if that's the case, because you only bring your tractor to CT "occasionally" to use it there. That's where the use tax comes into play. If you go pick up a machine, or it's delivered to another address out of state and you avoid a sales tax, then they get you with a use tax if you use the tractor in CT most of the time. But in your case, most of the time, the tractor resides in NH, right? Right.
I think when we're back visiting my mom in CT this summer, since we already planned on taking a trip up to visit someone in NH, I'm going to go ahead and buy a parcel of land up there.
Maybe I can have my tractor delivered to NH, and once in a while, I'll bring it out to Colorado to work on my other property, but it'll reside in NH most of the year.
