Looks like he missed his mouse quota..Glad he missed you and the dog too?

No dog, but my daughter (adult visiting from Indiana) just added a few sticks to the pile the day before. The pile was a small one about 2' high by 4' and was just started 3 days before.

Deezler: I really, really, really dislike snakes in my yard that can bite me and make me sick. The copperheads are so had to spot in leaf litter mulch. I'll attach a picture of part of our "yard."

Don: Yeah, he was stretched out and not moving when I saw him about 3 feet from me.

Mike: I decided to post the pictures because they are pretty good representation and not all tore up. I guess I broke his spine.

Bullbreaker: Well, if I had a canon in my hands he would have gotten that treatment.

Good job on killing it!!!!

I saw my first snake of the year today, but it was just a harmless rat snake. Not very big, and just like yours, very skinny. Sadly, I must admit that I was on the mower and it was too fast for me.

I was told that a small copperhead is about the worse thing to bite you because he's going to juice you up with all he's got.

From my experience, they are more aggressive than rattlesnakes and more steathly.

I've already seen two garter snakes and I think I saw lightening bugs earlier this week. I'm in Middle Tennessee. Guess it will be 100 degrees in May at the rate we're going.

Copperheads are truly magnificent creatures, so beautiful. You had to kill him?

Darn sure glad we don't have them up here in the frozen north though! Although if our winter and spring seasons continue like this year... they'll be here soon enough.

The only good Copperhead is a DEAD one!

We get diamond back rattlers across the river from me, they are protected. I have no idea what you are suppose to do if you find one, a friend of mine sees then all the time and he is about 100 yards from a school play ground.

I box them up and ship them to PETA...

When I lived in Missouri, I encountered copperheads on a daily basis. They're very hard to see in woodpiles and leaves. I might have already posted these. You can see their massive fangs in the first pic.

I kill every copperhead and cotton mouth that I see.

My wife wears snake boots 100% of the time now...
