Having ( using ) the right equipment makes ALL the difference.

I just spent the weekend with a 40 foot lift - trimming trees at my home, my neighbor's house and a rental building. I figure my life was worth at least that $180. Of course, others may disagree

And, speaking of pole-saws, I recently purchased an Easy-Lift harness. It may look like something from Ghost Busters but it sure saves your arms and your back!

Me too! I will use a pole saw with manual power. Anything larger than I want to take down than I can handle that way is a job for someone else.

That is exactly what I do. the polesaw goes to 30 feet or so. After that I call the tree trimming guys.. Even I am not stupid enough to get on the ladder with a chainsaw.. You got nowhere to run.

I was just 16' up on a ladder yesterday tying a rope around a tree to pull it away from a telephone pole and wires while a buddy cut them down from the ground.

Yes, I got down and moved the extension ladder before he cut.

I own a tree service here in upstate NY.. I've been called to finish a few jobs that the home owner started, then realized that doing it himself, was a bad idea.

I agree. Why are they even taking a video of this?

I hope that he is okay. I had a friend that died when he (long story) basically used a tractor to pull a tree onto himself. We were all asking why didn't call one of us? If we could just go back in time. But, I guess, in the moment people don't always think clearly.
