With a combined population of about 25 million (20 Aust 5 NZ) I think we can hold our heads very high, maybe we should come to hollywood to teach actors. Not a bad effort for a 10th of your population. We should make tractors to, what do you think/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Forgive me, but what exactly are you proud of? I guess I just don't understand the correlation /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I was wondering also.
By the way, there are so many award shows now,
does it really mean anything?

I find it kind of funny that they give awards to people for doing their jobs. These actors/actresses think that they are something special.

For some reason they don't have awards shows for my job. I'd like to be nominated for

BEST SOFTWARE ENGINEER IN A LEADING ROLE
or
BEST CODING STYLE IN A REAL-TIME SYSTEM

It would be an honor just to be nominated. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Wasn't Lord of The Rings done in NZ?

BTW...

I'd nominate you for nice hat in a TBN photo. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

In college, I got an award for Best Male Actor in a Female Role. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Of course, I was the ONLY male actor in a female role in that particular production! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

I don't believe I would be telling that one Gary. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

What, you never heard the expression, "Anything for the theater!"? I WAS a theater major at the time.

Besides, do you have ANY idea how "sensitive" the girls think you are when you do something like that? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Do you have ANY idea how girls like to relate to boys that they think are "sensitive"?? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Do you have ANY idea how............... /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Family site, family site, family site! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks Moss! I'm fond of it too! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I thought the tall poppy syndrome was uniquely Australian, obviously not.
I don't know about your country but here we have awards for most things, Engineering(many categories), Nursing, volunteers, farmers, apprentice, Australian of the year awards, the list goes on.
I thought this was part and parcel of a healthy capitalist system.

That's why I don't really get into pro sports. I can't grasp the concept of someone getting played millions of dollars to play a game. Why is what they do for a living worth more for one day than for what I do all year?

Look at Peyton Manning today signed for 7 years for 99 million. That seems crazy.

How much does the President of the United States make??

Yes, but one could ask the same of Bill Gates, has he toiled that hard to get what he has.

/ Oscars #16
I for one do not begrudge Bill Gates his wealth, and if someone should invent and market a better product to replace what he developed.....I will not begrudge them the royalties they earn.

They call that "Stupid Money"... if you're stupid enough to pay me that much money, I'm stupid enough to take it. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have to agree with MossRoad. That IS a nice hat, Gatorboy.

I like it better than the old photo. Every time I saw it, he had a look on his face like he was about to kick my butt. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif (No offense, Gatorboy, but that's what it looked like to me.)

That's kind of what my wife said when she saw what picture I was using on the site. She told me to change it -- and of course I listened. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
