Quick Hitches Original Quick Hitch

OK....I was just reading (yet again) about quick hitches....and the ensuing debate about who's is better. QUESTION: Who was the original guy that came up with a quick hitch?? And....is he still in the buisiness of offering that product?

Having originated a few new concepts and manufacturing several patentend products in the past (in another industry), and watching the clones and knock-off's that follow....I'd be curious to know where this idea started?...and did that guy get his "reward"?

I did a Google search on quick hitch inventor and came up with over 7500 hits. I think you could find out who invented the QH but you need to be specific as to what QH you mean because there are so many different types.
