I was shopping for another "power cage". Specifically, a Balance PC-1, on line. (I already had one that I had bought during my recovery from knee surgery. This is a "light duty" cage, not for heavy duty work. I needed something to hang onto while doing various exercises)
When I bought the first one in 2023 from an Ebay seller, I paid $200 for the cage then added a lat pull down attachment for another $124. When I looked at the cage directly on Walmart's site, it was listed for $200. I typed it into my browser and it came up at $100 at Walmart? I thought that perhaps it was a scam so I logged in on Walmart.com and chatted with an associate. They told me that it was legit but never did get into the reason for the price difference. So, I go to order one for $100 and go figure, out of stock.
I was finding the cage on Ebay for ~125 and up so I ordered one but the seller came back with out of stock. I went back to browsing and ordered it from Walmart whom this time did have it in stock and indeed got it for $100.
In between trying to get it on Ebay and then finally ordering from Walmart, I also ordered the lat pulldown attachment. Again, I priced it on both Walmart.com and by looking for it on my browser. Again, a big difference in price, $61 vs. $100.
I have no idea how often one could save some money in this fashion but it's worthy of a few minutes of searching.
Oh, why did I buy a second power cage? So, I could do opposing lat pull downs.
