<font color="blue"> I have the turf tires and have had no problems. I think you will find they will work in almost all situations. Try them for about a year and if you feel you need another set of bar tires for special work then that is the time to buy.

Thanks, I'm hoping this would be the case. I probably will look at alternatives but hopefully I won't need them. I'll post what I learn on this forum.

Thanks! I'm curious as to why the 4-1 bucket is harder to attach, when I looked at them I couldn't see much difference?

I really thought long and hard about getting the light material bucket abut I thought I would get the 4-1 and let my needs drive acquisition of the light material bucket. I also wanted to look at the feasibility of adding add'l capacity to the 4-1 bucket before I purchased another bucket I'd have to store somewhere.

Normal implements take 15 seconds to attach without getting off the tractor. Powered implements with hydraulic motors and cylinders take the added time to get off the tractor, plug in a couple hoses and get back on the tractor. Soooo, your 4-in-1 bucket will probably take a whopping 30-45 seconds to attach VS 15 seconds for a standard bucket. That's a 200-300 percent increase in time!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Congratulations on your purchase. I bet you will love it.
As to the tires I have used the turf tires on mine for 5 years and they work good in snow , to my surprise, and in almost all instances I think they do a good job. The ag tread will do better in mud but the turf tires will not disappoint you.

<font color="blue"> I would expect the stump cutter blade to turn CW and throw debris away from the tractor! </font>

<font color="red"> Exactly!! For details go to: Stump Grinder Rotation </font>

<font color="blue"> I'm wondering if ATV wheels and tires might not work on the PT425. </font>

<font color="red"> NO! ATV tires are the wrong size, but more importantly are NOT made to carry the front tire load of about 1200# each!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif</font>

Sounds great.

I echo all the turf tire supporters. I now have both for my 1845. The bar tires are no better in snow, and only slightly better in mud. And they do leave tracks. You won't be disappointed with turfs.

As the Branson, MO mad russian says: I never looked at it that way!

I tend to put utility ahead of efficiency until I get some experience with things. Thats' why I drive an older (1989 Ford) PU and fish from a SUB (Sport Utility Boat). Most of the time I don't have to move away from my original direction but I don't hesitate to change direction if circumstances warrant it. Too many years of being an IT Auditor I guess!

Thaniks for your thoughts on the turf tires. The main concern I've had has been the food plot work I'll do with it pulling ATV implements. It would seem to me the extra weight would affset the traction advantage that atv tractor type tires would have.

Have you tried to put chains on your tires? On the farm we used to do that and that helped traction considerably in miserable conditions.

True value info, I'll do exactly that after I make sure it will run and before I try to use it!

I'm wondering if ATV wheels and tires might not work on the PT425.

NO! ATV tires are the wrong size, but more importantly are NOT made to carry the front tire load of about 1200# each!!

I was looking at ATV tires for food plot usage potential, not any kind of load carrying work. Based on what I've seen, ATV tires use the same diameter wheels as the PT425 and some of the wider ATV widths are also the same. They tend to be a bit taller which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing for pulling ATV implements. http://www.tiresnstuff.com/gbc,itp-atv.html
would be a good place to look at ATV tires.
