Kioti CK30
After much research here I ordered a ck25 gear Kioti. I test drove a similar one (ck30) and it seemed very nice.

I have a question: I have decided to buy a Northern 3 pt log splitter. Is there some place like the FEL qick disconnects that
I can hook it, or should I call the dealer and have a rear remote fitted?

There is still some time to do this as the crated ck25 at the dealer turned out to be a ck25HST, so a gear ck25 was ordered from the factory (close by). I do hate to wait though!

The remotes in the rear for a log spliter will be the same as for a backhoe..........a pressure and a return. I got a BH for my CK30 and the remotes for the hoe were dealer installed. Congratulations on your choice

Thanks! I figured I had better call the dealer and they said one rear remote is factory installed. I did not see anything about this on the specifications....but it looks like i'm covered.

I was very impressed with the Kioti products. I had to make that tough decision between it and Kubota. Both are good but
kioti seems to be a better value....and it is much heavier. I guess it will gross out at about 4000 lb with the FEL and brush hog. Hope it doesn't sink in the yard! Using R4 tires.

Congratz and have the remotes installed before you bring it home for the splitter.

As long as you are getting the rear remotes, do yourself a huge favor and order a hydraulic top link. I can't believe how useful they are. I got one from the lovely Mrs_Bob for Christmas and after years of not having one, I would say it is probably the MOST USEFUL addition you can add to any tractor other than the FEL! It makes every ground engaging 3pt implement MORE effective (blades, box blades, landscape rakes, etc) and the majority of the cost of setting one up is getting the rear remotes. The cost of the cylinder is pretty modest.

EDIT: If you want a Hydraulic Top Link, contact fellow TBN member Mark Carter at Carter & Carter Machine, he posts under the name CCI. You can use a search to find him, he may also be listed under the DEALERS flag along top of every page. He has cylinders with check valves that keep them from leaking down or drifting. Any local hydraulics shop near you should be able to set you up too. Nice thing about Mark is that he is a tractor guy and will talk you through everything so you get the right size!

How about some vendor suggestions for the hydraulic top link?

Thanks, i'll look at a hyd top link. I was originally looking at just a bush hog but as I read on I saw the utility of a front end loader...at first I thought they were for just loading dirt into trucks! I suspect I will need a tooth bar for it in this hard georgia red clay. I really know nothing about them though, so I'll just have to see.

First job for the FEL is a damaged tree that must be removed.
Some bucket forks are in order for that. I could weld some up pretty quick or just buy the $300 ones. Should be handy for picking up the logs and holding up heavy branches so they can be bucked up without pinching.

Oh, and I am making a 375 yard two hole little golf course on the property! Sound like fun?

Yes, it does sound like fun, but you may find that just using your new tractor will occupy much of your time!!
Congratualtions on your decision. I agree with Bob and You, get a hydraulic top link, and a toothbar. The toothbar should probably be first if you can't get both now. I didn't have one for a short time after buying my CK20HST, but not long after, and I still think it was the best less than $300 attachment I've bought.

Im bringing my fel bucket back this weekend to the shop to weld some chain hooks to angle iron and then weld angle iron to to bucket top edge to reinforce that weaker area and provide hooks to pull stuff.
And I'm bringing back the top half of my ROPS bar to make a custom light bar for flood lights for evening tractor duties.
You may find stock lighting inadequate.
You may want to weld on your golf bag?? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
