We have a fire going tonite too. cool temps, snow in the high country. April showers, May flowers... Average weather around here though, unlike many other areas.

I hear you on that, for it seems we're burning more wood this month than in January...also having large amounts of snow....another snow storm arrives today. :(

Not to worry Thomas, I went ahead and put the snowblower back on yesterday, so we will get mostly rain! ---------Wayne

I've never seen coal burn. I hear all about it and understand it's a great fuel source, but for the life of me, it just doesn't make sense that you can burn a rock that comes out of the earth. One day I'm just gonna buy some coal online and light it on fire just to see how it works.

We had a fire last night, and another this morning. Our spring can go clear through may though and it doesn't take much arm twisting to light up a nice wood fire in a very large Lopi insert. We love to look at it and feel the heat, better than TV. Anytime I can prevent the electric heater from turning on I have saved some money too.

Except for an unusual warm spell about two weeks ago where it reached 80 degrees, we are still heating 24-7. Does not look to improve much, right now it's 41 degrees with an 18 mph wind and we are supposed to get another hard freeze tonight. That warm spell caused the plants and trees to bud, but the freeze took care of that. If we are lucky we might be able to plow the garden and plant May 1st.
