Is it possible Yanmar has learned the ropes working with TYM and Rural King stores? And Rural King stores do have tractor repair techs on site too.

Will we see TSC offering tractor repairs by certified techs trained by Yanmar at the stores?

Rural King Farm stores with RK tractors made jointly by TYM/Yanmar/Kujie.

To be fair, I’ve never heard anything but nightmare stories of Rural King service departments

Sort of reminds me of Cabelas foray into selling tractors. They learned pretty quick that selling tractors and servicing them are 2 distinctly different animals.

True. Every time someone asks about buying a RK tractor, the advice is no, buy the TYM… for the service and parts alone

Considering the 'quality' of TSC associates, I'd be very leery about them even checking the oil.....:p

I didn't know that TSC used to sell Yanmars. Yanmar's quality should reduce the need for major service.

TSC already sells Cub Cadet and other brands of mowers....no local service department at TSC that I know of.

I don't need any more tractors, but admit I'd sure look at them at the local TSC for fun.

They don't and never have. Bought a zero turn Cub from them and had engine issues with it. Lucky I have a bit of knowledge and the tools to fix them and I had to get the replacement parts from an authorized Cub dealer to repair it and I had to give them toe defective stuff back. Just so happened that my Kubota dealer is also a Cub dealer. Flywheel was defective, it tossed a magnet so I had to replace it and the stator as well because when the mag came loose, it took the stator as well. Kawasaki V twin btw. Long gone, replaced with a Kubota diesel front mount F series mower.

Another risk of selling through any box store chain is that if the guys at the HQ of the box store chain get the notion that they aren't making enough money on them, they could drop them like any other brand.

Yanmar just need to commit to marketing and service. Incentivize regional managers and bonus them and local managers on performance and customer satisfaction. I believe Yanmar quality is good enough to sell itself. You just have to back it up with parts and service availability and hang in for the long term.

That's what Kubota has done and other manufacturers have not done. Do what winners do and don't do what the rest do. They could take a good chunk of the market now held by the lesser brands.

Kubota and Toyota are two winners that come to mind.

Looks like there’s about 8 Yanmar dealers here in Wisconsin and that’s not counting any Tractor Supply Stores. My LS tractor has a Yanmar engine, it only has a little over 400 hours on it but so far it’s been trouble free.
