This best describes me for several years now. My wife and I bought 10 acres of gently rolling, tree covered land, about 5 years back. I have used TractorByNet.com to research every project in this adventure. I am a city boy and land development has been a REAL eye opener. Thank you for illuminating the best path on everything from axes, chainsaws, tractors and implements, to back-filling around our new house and now building a yard. If you use this resource as I did why be outside looking in? Sign up and it gets rid of the nag page that asks you to join once and for all.

Now that I can post I will reiterate what I read here years ago, "STUMPS IS HARD", truer words I have not yet read! It is refreshing to rub elbows with people who have developed their can do, self reliant abilities. But, you guys look at things differently than us city dwellers and I will give an example to close. We have a fantastic local tractor dealer from whom I bought a heavy duty 7' box blade. He asked me how I like the Blade and I answered, "I love it, I may be buried with it". His response, "That box blade won't dig real deep; I may need to sell you a back-hoe attachment". Thanks again TractorByNet.....rubberdust.

Not too sure even a backhoe would work for you in those West Virginia rocks. Just get yourself cremated and spread the ashes on the driveway. You'll remain close to the BB forever.

I'm pretty fond of my BB too, but so are my kids. They'll never let me take it with me.

Welcome from Virginia, about 20 miles from the WV border.

Awesome 1st post!

Tell us some more, and show us pics of that lovely Box Blade you "allegedly" possess... :D

Remember, no pics, no proof...

Welcome to TBN!!!

Be well,
David

Looking at this photo i noticed that my Heavy Duty Blade has a Standard Duty sticker. No proof without a photo is good advice. I love it anyway.

The tractor I got from a motorcycle dealer for slightly more than scrap metal price. They thought the front differential was bad and wanted it gone. Rebuilt the starter, changed filters & fluids, A new battery and it has never failed me yet. The bumbershoot was a good idea from my wife, a skin cancer survivor 11-years now, it is not an official J.D. part but the color is close.

Thats a decent looking long HD tractor- what 40-45HP range?

How do you see outa that sun shade? - looks a little close on headroom too! Have you thought about a ROPS and top instead? I know Kubota nearly gave the ROPS away for my old L175DT $250 I guess due to liability - you might check with Long and see if they have a similar program.

Thanks

Carl
